About Kalimna Ministries Inc
Kalimna Ministries Inc. has a great reputation of helping those that others have forgotten or neglected. In the 9 years that Kalimna Ministries Inc (formerly Restoration International ministries Inc) has been in the USA, we have been involved in working with at risk’ teens, the homeless, and disaster victims, as well as everyday Christians and non-Christians.
In 2012 we are going to become a ministry that supplies food, clothing and furniture to the needy in the Cedar Creek lake area.
When Hurricanes Katrina and Rita hit, Gary and Wendy Hooper worked tirelessly in Houston and New Orleans. They have been involved in outreaches to the poor throughout Texas, Kentucky, Indiana, Iowa, Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, The Philippines and other areas throughout the world.
Kalimna Ministries has partnered with many other ministries to provide food, shelter, clothing and education to the less fortunate in our society.
Through our continued partnerships with other organizations we are ready to lend a helping hand when disaster strikes.
About the name Kalimna:
Kalimna is an Australian Aboriginal word meaning beautiful.
About our Board of Directors:
President: Rev Dr Gary S Hooper
Gary was born in Sydney, Australia but spent most of his life living in Rural Australia. He is a husband, father and grandfather. Gary was "born again" in May 1985 and has since pastored churches in Australia and the USA. He is a sought after international speaker at conferences.
Dr Gary and Wendy Hooper relocated to the USA in February 2002. In the USA, Gary and Wendy have preached in Indiana, Iowa, North Carolina, Minnesota, Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Kentucky, Colorado, South Dakota, and Tennessee. Gary has pastored churches in Australia, Iowa and Texas and has been the Interim Pastor for a church in Indiana. Gary has 6 ministry degrees.
Vice President: Dr Glenn B Burt III M.D
Glenn B. Burt III, MD is a board certified Family Practice specialist. He attended the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio medical school. Interning in Milwaukee, Dr. Burt then entered the US Army as a General Practitioner, where he was the officer-in-charge of two Troop Medical Clinics for four years. He and his family stayed in Lawton, Oklahoma, after the Army, where he was an acute care and emergency room physician for seven years. He was also in private practice.
Dr. Burt began to feel the calling to move to Wisconsin in 1994. He had to become a specialist in Family Medicine first. He was the first regular graduate of a new program in Lawton. Moving to Wausau in 2002, he initially worked for a community-based clinic. July 2004 saw God lead the practice back in the direction of independence. Glenn and Judy opened Christian Family Practice Medical Clinic, in March of 2005.
Glenn is a mighty man of God who inspires and challenges Gary. A born again Christian, Glenn has been involved in ministry for the past 22 years. He and his wife, Judy, were team leaders in children's ministry for many years. They have taught classes on finances together, and been on medical mission trips to Mexico. His wife and daughter were part of a mission team that went to India and England. He is currently involved with the Men's Ministry at "Living Well Faith Community", a Four Square Church in Wausau.
Secretary/Treasurer: Wendy Hooper
Wendy came to the Lord in 1991. Wendy is a wife, mother and grandmother. She has been a small business owner, counselor, women’s conference speaker and accountant.
Wendy has a Bachelor of Science Counseling degree as well as certificates in Accounting, beauty Therapy and Nail care. Gary says that “Wendy balances me out; she is my voice of reason when I get too carried away.”
She says since being married to Gary she “has never had a dull moment.” She has a servant’s heart and desires to see women walking in their gifting and callings. Wendy desires to see all women come to a knowledge of who Jesus is and what He did for them.
International Director: Robert North
Rob has known Gary for over 20 years. Rob lives in on the Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia with his wife, Nyrie and their 2 children; Sarah and Sam. Rob and Nyrie both have servants hearts and love the Lord dearly. They are a blessing and asset to Kalimna Ministries.
